#1 Barifinkle/Team Sit On My Face (-19) vs. #3 Tallula
No James Knight for Tallula makes this much anticipated game less exciting. After suffering a broken left hand in last week's victory against Ortega, Knight claims that he will only be out a week. Without their star, Tallula shouldn't be much of a test for the defending champs.
#2 The Express (-25) vs. #19 Hank Mardukas
Hank Mardukas adds Mikey Ahern to their roster for this game. Ahern possesses a lot of athletic talent, but seems to have control issues on the court. Ahern should prevent this from being a blowout, but this would go down as upset of the year if Hank Mardukas could hand the Express their first loss.
#4 Theo (-21) vs. #18 NWA
NWA still has yet to add a regular season win to their resume since the beginning of Junior Night League. Theo should easily win this game, move to 4-0, and with a bye week left, secure a spot in the playoffs.
#5 The Bomb Squad (-23) vs. #14 Coot's Coot
The Bomb Squad looks to rebound after a tough loss last week to The Express. Jeff Dsida may try to get more time in the post versus a much smaller Coot's Coot team. Willy Moore will be back for his first game of the year, and The Bomb Squad should be able to win this one easily.
#6 Re-Elect Judge Jim Wascher (-28) vs. #16 Phase 4
Of the 5 undefeated teams left, Re-Elect Jim Wascher seems to have the most to prove. They have a quality win against Medieval Times, but people still don't think of them as a contender in the playoffs. Unfortunately, a victory against Phase 4 won't change that view. Team Wascher will get The Express next week; however, and will have a great chance to show their skills.
#7 Ortega (-15) vs. #13 McGarry Dangles Inc.
Ortega's star Ben Morton missed school Tuesday, and is probable for this game. If Morton shows, Ortega shouldn't have a problem with McGarry Dangles Inc. Off In The Woods, Coot's Coot, Barifinkle, and AD are left for McGarry Dangles Inc. 4-4 may or may not get into the playoffs, and with 2 losses already, and another one impending (Barifinkle), McGarry Dangles may need to win this one to keep playoff hopes alive.
#8 Boo Radley and Friends (-6) vs. #10 Medieval Times
The unofficial game of the week, as Barifinkle-Tallula without James Knight will be less of a game. Boo Radley is at 1-2, and although #8 in the polls, needs to start winning in order to make the playoffs. Medieval Times is no pushover, and can easily win this game. That said, the combination of Spencer Levin and Justin Horwitz makes Boo Radley the favorite in this game.
#11 AD (-9) vs. #12 The Bullets
These two teams contemplated merging at the beginning of the year, and instead chose to not merge. It hasn't worked out for The Bullets, who are 1-2, including an embarrassing loss to Ortega. AD lost to Barifinkle and had a bye, so it's hard to tell how good they are at 1-1. The Bullets aren't good, and AD is a clear favorite. With Robert Gorodetsky though (one time teammate of Ben Brust), you just never know.
#15 Supreme Court (-3) vs. #17 Off In The Woods
A battle of the winless. Off In The Woods is showing they are more serious than their name with close losses to Tallula (12 points), and The Bullets (19 points). Supreme Court lost by 15 to Mallard Magic, 11 to McGarry Dangles, and 23 to Theo. Supreme Court I give the slight edge because they have the best player on the court Nick Dronen.
